Christopher Arellano is from Arizona. He graduated from UCLA with a BA in theater arts and a concentration in Chicano Studies. He began his social work career through a multi-cultural Shakespeare company in downtown L.A. that invited inner city youth to participate in theater production. He received a dual master’s degree from the University of Southern California in Urban Planning and in Social Work. He also holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.

He is a union representative/organizer with United Teachers Los Angeles for the East area of Los Angeles and also serves as the past chair of the Community Action Board (CAB) for Community Development with the City of Los Angeles and is the President of the East Area Planning Commission with the city of Los Angeles.
